NSW: Woman killed in motorcycle accident

SYDNEY, Dec 25 AAP - An 18-year-old Liverpool woman is dead and a 17-year-old Hoxton
Park man seriously injured after a motorcycle accident in Sydney's south-west yesterday.

NSW Police said the accident occurred after the motorcycle collided with a Ford Laser
on Memorial Avenue at Liverpool around 11.15pm (AEDT).

The Hoxton Park rider and the Liverpool passenger were approaching the intersection
of Beale Street when a car attempted to make a right hand turn in front of the motorcycle,
which then braked and skidded into the car.

Emergency services could not revive the Liverpool woman and the Hoxton Park man suffered
serious internal injuries and remains in Liverpool Hospital.

The 53-year-old Merrylands woman who was driving the car was uninjured.

The death takes the NSW Christmas road toll to eight.

Earlier a 68-year-old Marayong woman died after being hit by a car while crossing Richmond
Road in Quakers Hill, in Sydney's west.
